Lofty Top Marketing and Design is the product of hundreds if not thousands of hours perfecting legal marketing for our owner’s law firm. Our owner, John C. Huff, practiced family law in and around the Greater Tulsa Area for 6 years before deciding to resign from the chaotic world of divorces, child custody, and child support enforcement to focus on offering his knowledge of internet legal marketing to his fellow attorneys. His knowledge not only comes from years of trial and error but from the personal teachings of former business partner and legendary marketing guru, Daniel Wiafe, who has now moved on to hosting his own show on HGTV called “Flipping the Heartland.”

Ethics and the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct

Understand that the person doing the legal marketing for your business actually has not only passed the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) but also has a working knowledge of the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct. I have seen some pretty easy to avoid ethical mistakes made by online legal marketers on behalf of an attorney or law firm. For example, on multiple occasions I have seen legal marketers guaranteeing results or using deceptive, misleading or sometimes fraudulent testimonials. Then of course there are the little meticulous ethics violations like using the word “specialize,” which violates Rule 7.4(b) of the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct. We have studied the ethics rules on legal advertising to avoid causing any harm to our attorney and law firm clients.

Legal Marketing Knowledge and Good Leads

Our background in law firm marketing has allowed us valuable experience. Through a multitude of marketing experimentation, and trial and error, we have found what works for legal marketing and what doesn’t. For example, advertising on craigslist or in the Penny Saver will bring tons of phone calls, but almost none of them will convert into actual paying clients. We also know what wording attracts better paying leads than others. Legal marketing isn’t just about the quantity of leads it’s about the quality of the leads. No attorney has the time to set on his phone all day talking to people he isn’t billing. Use your work hours to make money not waste with non-billable tasks.
